About Me

My career in higher education spans 20+ years.

I developed my expertise in highly selective holistic admissions as an Associate Director in the Dartmouth admissions office, where I read more than 15,000 applications as a first, second, and transfer reader.

Prior to that, I spent 13 years in NCAA Division I sports as an assistant and head rowing coach. Coaching developed my ability to work with young people of high ambition.

I started my career as a writer and editor. If I've ever had a natural talent, it's with the written word.

(I'm also the father of two daughters who are old enough for the whole "college thing" to be starting to get real.)

15 Minutes of Focus combines all of my professional experience: admissions officer, coach, and writer.
